A river born in the mountains can cross several towns, regions and even countries before reaching the sea. Aquifers, rain and the climate don't recognize borders either. That's why, when a community treats its wastewater properly, the benefit doesn't stay on its land: it reaches everyone who shares that water.
A challenge we all share
According to the latest WHO and UNICEF report, in 2024 some 3.4 billion people worldwide still lacked safely managed sanitation. And only about 2.5% of the planet's water is fresh. Every liter of untreated wastewater that returns to the ground shrinks that reserve a little more.
The good news is that change is possible: between 2015 and 2024, 1.2 billion people gained access to safe sanitation. Behind that number are families, schools, businesses and governments that decided to act.
What we learned in Colombia
Colombia is one of the most biodiverse countries on the planet and is home to about half of the world's páramos, true water factories. It is also a country where much of the rural population has no sewer connection. That combination taught us something valuable: solutions must work in the countryside, be easy to install, last many years and protect the environment.
What works in a Colombian village can work on a farm in Ecuador, in a community in Mexico or in a country house in Spain.
Why ROTOSEPT looks to the world
- Because water is shared: protecting a watershed helps every country that depends on it.
- Because the need is global: there are rural areas without sewers across Latin America, and also in the United States and Europe.
- Because we have something to contribute: integrated septic systems that treat water on site, built to the Colombian NTC 5770-2010 standard.
How we do it
- Secure shipping from Colombia to Latin America, the United States and Europe, with a clear quote for each destination.
- Advice to choose the right capacity and guide the installation, wherever you are.
- Partnerships: we are looking for distributors, installers and organizations that want to protect the water in their region.
Want to be part of it?
